Educational Tour to Vagamon & Kochi | December 6–7, 2025
Our Department of English transformed the classroom into a canvas of experience with an immersive two-day educational tour to Vagamon and Kochi on December 6–7, 2025. Far from the pages of textbooks, our students and faculty traced the spirit of literature across mist-laden meadows and colonial streets. In Vagamon, nature became the muse, as students penned verses under pine canopies and reflected on Romantic and eco-critical texts amidst the rolling hills.
The journey continued to Kochi, where history whispered through Fort Kochi’s cobbled lanes, Chinese fishing nets, and the vibrant walls of the Folklore Museum. More than a tour, it was a pilgrimage of words and wonder—nurturing creativity, critical insight, and a profound appreciation for culture. Truly, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.”
Industrial Visit to The Hindu Group, Madurai | August 8th, 2025
From Classroom to Newsroom: English Meets Journalism
Stepping into the world of words and deadlines, our Department of English organized an inspiring industrial visit to The Hindu Group of Publications, Madurai, on August 8, 2025.
Our students witnessed the pulse of journalism first-hand—from the roar of the printing press to the quiet precision of the editorial desk.Seasoned journalists and editors mentored them on the art of news reporting, the discipline of editing, and the ethics that uphold truth in the digital age. Watching headlines take shape in real time illuminated career paths in content writing, editing, publishing, and mass communication.
The visit was not merely industry exposure; it was a revelation of purpose. It affirmed that an English degree is not confined to literature alone—it is a gateway to shaping public discourse. Our students returned not just informed, but inspired to wield language with responsibility and power.
